OUR STORY

2nd Generation Family-Owned Business

Brackins Macadamia Orchard is currently one of the largest Macadamia nut farm in North America with over 1500 trees on a 40-acre farm. Founded and established in 2014, we are family-owned and operated, located in Plant City, Florida. Our orchard was planted by Ken Brackins and Angelique Herring, who produced the idea of growing Macadamia trees. As of 2021, Ken Brackins and Angel Herring have handed me, Kinley Brackins the reigns and we are operating as a nutastic father-daughter duo.

When Ken began this adventure, he was told it would be too challenging and near impossible to reproduce these trees through an air-layering process in Florida (Macadamia’s are native to Australia), but low and behold with years of failed attempts Poppa Brackins germinated this idea and has successfully mastered the Macadamia tree reproduction process. He had perfected the air-layering process with Angel giving us the ability to create new strong trees which can flower produce nuts the very next year!

As for the year 2022, we will be taking a portion of our proceeds and donating it to the Diabetes Research Institute, located in Miami, Florida. This is extremely important to our family because Ken's children have been living with Type One Diabetes and we are looking forward to a cure.

At Brackins Macadamia Orchard we hope to invite you not as a consumer but as part of the Brackins family. We strive to produce healthy and delicious Macadamia nuts and trees for everyone!

Love, Kinley, Ken, Reed, and Angel

Nut Info and Nutrition: Macadamia nuts have a mild flavor. They are mildly sweet with an excellent buttery texture and can be eaten raw or used in various recipes. Macadamia nuts are rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber. These nuts are exceptionally low in carbs and sugar; thus, healthy fats can help reduce the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes! Our trees can be container-grown for a couple of years, and when planted in the ground they may grow to about 15ft. tall. When the tree blooms in the early springtime, you will have nuts to harvest in the fall. For more information on our Macadamia trees please
